We are a flourishing and vibrant History Society and in 2022 we celebrated 26 years from our first lecture in 1996.

 

We have grown considerably in recent years and our diverse and interesting programme for the current season can be seen on this website.

 

We have ten lectures per year, from September to June and usually at least one trip each Season to somewhere of outstanding and unusual historical interest.

In previous years we have visited Wells and Glastonbury, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, Prior Park and Bath. We enjoyed an outstanding guided walking tour of some of the surviving City of London Wren Churches, a visit to magnificent Arundel Castle and this year a trip to Oxford and Stonor Park at Henley on Thames.
